Built for the person carrying the whole business.
Small-business owners are expected to think like a chief executive, watch cash like a finance director, stay ahead of compliance, protect customer relationships and make the final decision when no answer is obvious. Business Partner was created for that owner. It is decision-support software for small business owners: a clear view of what matters, what produced it and what to do next.
The owner at the centre.
In a large company, important decisions are supported by teams, systems and specialists. In a small business, the same decisions often arrive at one person’s desk alongside everything else that needs to be done. Business Partner exists to bring some of that support within reach. Not by adding more reports or another system to manage, but by helping the owner begin each day with clearer priorities and better-supported decisions.
Why Business Partner exists.
Most business software begins with the system. Connect the data. Configure the dashboard. Learn the workflow. Keep the platform updated. Business Partner begins somewhere else: with the owner and the question, What deserves my attention today? It works from the documents the business already has. It identifies the evidence those documents can support, brings forward what matters and leaves the final judgement with the person responsible for the business. No accounting integration. No bank feed. No CRM required. Start with what you have.
Between generic AI and accounting software.
Generic AI can answer almost anything, but it does not know your business and may not know when its answer is wrong. Accounting software knows the figures it holds, but its job is to record and report, not to decide what deserves your attention this morning. Business Partner sits between them. It applies defined calculations and source rules to the information you provide. Ask connects every answer to its source and refuses to manufacture certainty when the evidence is missing. That refusal is not a limitation. It is what makes a supported answer useful.
Built for South African small business.
Business Partner is being built in South Africa for the realities of owner-managed businesses. Those realities do not always include connected books, dedicated finance teams or spare hours for software administration. They may include spreadsheets, exported reports, documents from a bookkeeper and important information held in more than one place. They also include real local obligations. Business Partner currently tracks PAYE, provisional tax and EMP501. VAT and CIPC annual returns will follow only when the correct dates can be supported. Business Partner starts there, with how small businesses actually work rather than an idealised version of how a business should operate.
What we believe.
- An owner’s time is one of the business’s scarcest resources.
- A clear priority is more valuable than another notification.
- Evidence matters more than confidence.
- Permission must come before action.
- A decision becomes more valuable when the owner’s reason for it is remembered.
- Every new capability must earn the owner’s attention.
Assistive by design.
Business Partner is not an autopilot for your business. It can identify the customer to chase, prepare the message, surface a deadline, explain a supported figure and keep the record of what you decided. It does not contact customers, move money, submit returns or make consequential decisions without your instruction. The preparation belongs to Business Partner. The authority remains with you.
Built to keep creating value.
Business Partner is an ongoing product, not a fixed catalogue of features. We are committed to continuous product development shaped by the real work of running a small business. Subscribers should experience a product that becomes more useful over time without becoming more complicated to operate. Every addition must help an owner do at least one of four things:
- Recover cash
- Avoid an unnecessary cost
- Make a better-supported decision
- Win back meaningful time
More features are not the goal. More value is.
The standard is simple.
Business Partner should take less than ten minutes of the owner’s time each week. It should explain where an answer came from. It should say when information is missing. It should never manufacture urgency to appear useful. It should never act beyond the authority it has been given. If it cannot meet those standards, it has been built wrong.
A better business day, repeated.
Business Partner is being built for the owner who carries the responsibility, holds the context and still has to decide where to begin. Tomorrow will bring another set of questions. You should not have to begin from scratch. Start the day knowing what matters. End it with a record of what you decided.
